On the Delone property of (-\beta)-integers

These sets were introduced in the domain of quasicrystallography, see e.g. [2]. It is not difficult to see that Z−β =Z when β ∈Z, and that Z−β = {0} when β < 1+ √ 5 2 . For β ≥ 1+ √ 5 2 , Ambrož et al. [1] showed that Z−β can be described by the fixed point of an anti-morphism on a possibly infinite alphabet. They also calculated explicitely the set of distances between consecutive (−β )-intege...

ON THE DEFINING RELATIONS FOR GENERALIZED q-SCHUR ALGEBRAS

We show that the defining relations needed to describe a generalized q-Schur algebra as a quotient of a quantized enveloping algebra are determined completely by the defining ideal of a certain finite affine variety, the points of which correspond bijectively to the set of weights. This explains, unifies, and extends previous results.

On the alternating sums of powers of consecutive q-integers

In this paper we construct q-Genocchi numbers and polynomials. By using these numbers and polynomials, we investigate the q-analogue of alternating sums of powers of consecutive integers due to Euler. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification : 11S80, 11B68

ON INTEGERS NOT OF THE FORM ±p ± q

In 1975 F. Cohen and J.L. Selfridge found a 94-digit positive integer which cannot be written as the sum or difference of two prime powers. Following their basic construction and introducing a new method to avoid a bunch of extra congruences, we are able to prove that if x ≡ 47867742232066880047611079 (mod 66483034025018711639862527490), then x is not of the form±pa±qb where p, q are primes and...

Bleimann, Butzer, and Hahn Operators Based on the q-Integers

We give a new generalization of Bleimann, Butzer, and Hahn operators, which includes qintegers. We investigate uniform approximation of these new operators on some subspace of bounded and continuous functions. In Section 3, we show that the rates of convergence of the new operators in uniform norm are better than the classical ones. We also obtain a pointwise estimation in a general Lipschitz-ty...
